The Role:
An opportunity exists for an 3rd Year Gastroenterology Advanced Trainee to join the team at Northern Health as Hepatology Fellow.
The Hepatology Fellow will provide high quality clinical care for patients with liver disease and acute liver issues requiring clinical care at Northern Health. This includes an ongoing overview of patients within the liver at home service, management of hepatocellular carcinoma, support of the liver nurses, liver and general gastroenterology outpatients, and upkeep of liver databases. They will participate in ward consultations, the on-call service, quality improvement processes and undertake a substantial research project(s) as well as backfill of some vacant endoscopy lists as appropriate. This role provides a unique opportunity to advance skills and knowledge in the management of patients with complex gastroenterological conditions.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of general gastroenterological conditions and undertaking advanced training in gastroenterology, currently in second year or beyond;
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team environment;
- A passion for the care of patients with liver diseases;
- A drive for continual learning and professional development; and
- A strong interest in research and quality improvement activities
