Based in Orange NSW, we are seeking a Plasma Machine Operator. The main function of these positions is the operation of the CNC Plasma Machine and to process components in readiness for manufacture. Previous experience operating a Plasma Cutting Machine and oxy cutting would be seen as an advantage. The position would also involve warehousing and distributing of steel components using an overhead crane and forklifts. Applicants with experience operating other forms of CNC machinery may be able to apply their skills to learning the plasma cutting equipment. Training will be made available for the right candidate.

- Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 3:30pm and;
- Friday, 7:00am to 1:00pm, with some overtime available.
- No weekend work!
Duties Include: (but are not limited to)
- Using Cranes, Forklifts, and other lifting devices to remove plasma cut components from the cutting beds.
- Clean and sand components ready for manufacture.
- Using handheld plasma cutter and or oxy cutting equipment, to cut scrap metal into manageable sections.
- Load and unload plate from plasma cutting beds.
- Unload steel from trucks.
- Maintain a tidy work area.
Criteria for Machine Operator (training available where required)
- Experienced in the use of software to nest and prepare files ready for cutting.
- CNC Plasma and Oxy cutting experience.
- Experience working in an engineering or fabrication workshop environment.
- Overhead Crane experience.
- Current forklift licence.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic computer skills.
